I totally get how frustrating it can be to find the right mentor in this space. When I was looking, I found that networking events specific to ecommerce can be gold; I met a great UX designer at one of those who really helped me refine my approach. You might also check out communities like @DesignerHangout on Slack, where you can connect with folks who get what you’re going through. Have you tried reaching out to local design meetups or workshops?
