Why did the cart forget its items

I was just thinking about how our shopping cart UX feels a bit like a joke sometimes. It’s almost like when users find their cart empty after they’ve spent 15 minutes browsing — they’re probably thinking, ‘Did I miss a punchline?’ It’s the kind of thing that makes me want to gather the team and brainstorm ways to make that experience less tragic and more user-friendly.
